The city of Aleppo including the oldest city in the world, has existed since 2000 BC. Aleppo is the second largest city of Syria, after Damascus, the Syrian capital. Aleppo changed its name to Beroia by Seleucus Niktator (312-64 BC) at the time of the Seleucid kingdom. The city was formerly known as Halab.
